Terry has written five books on the publishing process that were best-sellers that started the self-publishing revolution. He published Professional Publishing Magazine for publishing industry and Personal Publishing Magazine which brought how-to information to all people by introducing desktop publishing and on-demand publishing technology as a newsstand magazine and changed the nature of publishing forever.
Starting with publishing an underground newspaper in 1969, he went on to publish both consumer and business magazines. After his magazine publishing company was acquired by ABC, Inc., he was retained by Tribune Publishing to develop new publishing properties including newspapers, magazine and new media.
Through it all he wrote fiction and non-fiction books and has been a prolific and best-selling author. His books have been published by the largest publishing houses and he published his own works and books from other authors with the publishing company he started in 1970: Renegade Company. Today, Renegade Company uses the Wherever Publishing imprint for new works, and Renegade Company develops next-generation video products to move content creators to video and livestreamed works.
Throughout his publishing career, Terry has taught writing, literature, photography and communication skills at the college and graduate school levels. He uses his teaching and academic skills when working with authors to help advance their skills and success.
Terry loves to write and is currently authoring both fiction and non-fiction books. His current project is to update harassment prevention books and training to go beyond law and focus on personal responsibility in a changing world where the importance of understanding a diverse workforce requires greater understanding of what creates a safe and healthy workplace for all people.
With extensive experience as an author published by the largest publishing houses, publishing the works of other authors in magazines and books, Terry understands every aspect of taking a desire to write through to making it a published work. He enjoys helping writers become published authors and finds mentoring to be a rewarding experience for the author, and himself.
